Pissed Review

Pissed is a pub brawl that happens to be a slot machine, and Donk is the man throwing the punches. He has decided the present is a personal insult, and his answer is to get drunk and start swinging at it. Shady Lady builds its games around characters rather than themes, and Donk is the most abrasive one the studio has put on a reel.

That rage is the engine, not the decoration. Pissed is a scatter pays game on a 6×6 grid where 8 matching symbols pay from anywhere they land, and Donk himself sets off smashes that wreck the board while stacking a multiplier for doing it. Every smash adds to a running Donk Multiplier, and at the end of the spin that number lands on his own symbol. The more he destroys, the more he is worth.

What it asks in return is patience. The bonus shows up roughly once in every 294 spins and the base game connects less than a quarter of the time, so this is a slot that does very little for a long while and then hands you a riot. That swing is house style, and so is the refusal to reuse an engine. Devil’s Finger ratchets a reel multiplier one cell at a time, and Brainwashed stacks followers behind rival cult leaders, both chasing the same idea inside completely different machinery.

Pros

  • Smash multipliers add together across a whole spin rather than paying out separately, so a board that keeps triggering builds one big number instead of several small ones.
  • Donk pays 2,000x on his own for 25 or more symbols, before the multiplier is applied to him.
  • The trigger rates are published rather than buried: 25% per qualifying Donk in the base game, 50% in the bonus, 75% in the super bonus.
  • The super bonus strips everything except Donks and scatters out of the smashes, which is the cleanest the mechanic ever gets.
  • Both bonus boosts return more than a standard spin, paying 96.6% at 1.5x the stake and 96.7% at 5x against 96.05% in the base game.

Cons

  • Free spins land about once in 294 spins, which makes waiting for a natural trigger a long and costly project.
  • A 22.97% hit frequency, no wild, and low pays worth 2x to 10x even at 20 or more symbols leave the base game returning almost nothing between features.
  • Three RTP settings run 96.05%, 93.96% and 91.94%, and the one your casino loads is not your call.
  • When several smashes chain, it is genuinely hard to track what is being destroyed, what is being moved and where the multiplier has got to. You often reach the end of a spin with no idea whether it went well until the number finally lands.
  • The strongest store options reach 1,594x for the gold bonus and 3,060x for the top loot box, pricing the best of the game out of most sessions.

Gameplay

High volatility, rated 9 out of 10 by the studio’s own measure, with a 22.97% hit frequency and free spins arriving about once in 294 spins. Wins form when 8 or more matching symbols land anywhere on the 6×6 grid, or 5 or more Donks, after which winners vanish and fresh symbols cascade in until nothing new forms.

The paytable is deliberately thin: the low symbols return 2x to 10x for 20 or more, the four character symbols 15x to 50x, and only Donk matters, paying 2,000x at 25 or more. His real job is the smashes.

Five Donks arm the first one, each subsequent trigger needs one more Donk than the last, and up to 7 feature rolls can fire in a single spin. Each smash contributes to a Donk Multiplier that is applied to his symbol once the dust settles, which is how a 20,000x ceiling becomes reachable at all. Hit that cap and the round ends there and then.

How To Play

  • Set your stake anywhere from $0.10 to $50 a spin.
  • Land 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid to win, or 5 or more Donks.
  • Winning symbols clear and new ones cascade down, repeating until no fresh win appears.
  • Five Donks on the grid arm the first smash. Every further trigger in the same spin needs one more Donk than the one before it.
  • Watch the Donk Multiplier build as smashes land. It only pays out on Donk symbols, at the end of the spin.
  • Land 3 or 4 scatters for the bonus or super bonus.
  • Open the store for boosts, bonus buys, highlight reels and loot boxes, where your casino allows them.

Bonus Symbols

  • Donk: the top paying symbol and the trigger for everything. Five or more form a winning combination on their own, and each qualifying Donk carries a chance to set off a smash, at 25% in the base game, 50% in the bonus and 75% in the super bonus. The pay curve is brutally back-loaded: five Donks return 1x, ten return 2x, twenty return 200x, and twenty-five or more return 2,000x.
  • Scatter: 3 land the bonus round and 4 land the super bonus, and more scatters during either round award extra free spins. They also pay 1x each wherever they land.
  • Character symbols: the four high pays beneath Donk, worth 15x to 50x at 20 or more. Donk Smash relocates these rather than destroying them.
  • Low symbols: a vegan container, organic nuts, a cocktail and an alcohol-free IPA, worth 2x to 10x at 20 or more. These are what the smashes clear off the board.
  • No wild: there isn’t one, which is unusual for a scatter pays game and leaves the grid entirely dependent on volume.

Bonus Features

  • Donk Smash: the common one. Donk charges the grid, destroying low pays and relocating high pays and scatters, adding to the multiplier as he goes.
  • Ultra Smash: rarer, using special attack patterns that climb the multiplier ladder further than a standard smash.
  • Angry Crush: Donks drop to the bottom of the grid crushing whatever is in the way, building multiplier with each crush. There is a 10% chance the grid rotates 90 or 180 degrees first to open up more to crush.
  • Hipster Attack: a rare event that loads the board with Donks and sharply raises the odds of features firing.
  • Bonus Round (3 scatters): 6 free spins with Donks landing more often and features triggering at 50%.
  • Super Bonus Round (4 scatters): 7 free spins at a 75% trigger rate, where only Donks and scatters survive a smash.

Store

  • Boosts: Bonus Boost at 1.5x the stake returns 96.6%, Big Bonus Boost at 5x returns 96.7%, and a Guaranteed Rage Feature at 89x forces a Hipster Attack and returns 96.6%. All three pay better than a standard spin.
  • Bonus buys: 103x for the bonus and 360x for the super bonus. The enhanced tiers cost 129x for bronze, 347x for silver and 1,594x for gold, returning between 96.0% and 96.3%. The game states outright that each price reflects the average win from that option, so the store is effectively a menu of expected outcomes rather than a set of gambles.
  • Highlight reels: 70x, 164x or 243x returns the best 3 wins out of a batch of 100, 300 or 500 spins.
  • Loot boxes: Rare at 186x, Epic at 344x, Legendary at 570x and the Vault at 3,060x, each awarding a random enhanced bonus. The Vault also opens up instant payouts running from 100x to the full 20,000x, and the game flags it as extremely volatile in its own wording. Loot boxes are a Shady Lady signature rather than something built for this game.

SweepsPlays Verdict

  • Buy your way in or don’t bother. Everything memorable here sits behind a trigger that arrives once in 294 spins, and the studio has built a store deep enough to admit it.
  • Inside the bonus rounds, where features fire at 50% and 75%, this is one of the most entertaining things released this year. It is chaotic to the point of being hard to read, but the chaos is the appeal, and the multiplier building across a whole spin gives it a genuinely different shape to the usual scatter pays game.
  • Grinders and small-stake players should look elsewhere. A 22.97% hit frequency, no wild and a near-worthless low paytable make the base game punishing between features.
