Le Hooligan is Le Bandit in a football shirt. That is not a figure of speech. Same six-by-five cluster grid, same Win to Win engine, same 96.34% return, same 10,000x ceiling, same medium volatility, and a hit frequency within half a point of the original. Hacksaw Gaming swapped the desert for a stadium, put a fan called Smokey on the reels, and shipped it.
They shipped its twin the same day. Le Football Fan launched alongside it on 8 June 2026 with the same theme and the same engine, and the pair are often described as near-identical. They are not. Le Football Fan caps at 2,500x with a slightly higher return and a much higher maximum stake. Le Hooligan keeps Le Bandit’s full 10,000x. That gap is the only reason to read this review rather than the Le Bandit one, so here it is up front.

Read across, and the picture is simple. Le Hooligan is Le Bandit. Le Football Fan is Le Bandit with the ceiling cut to a quarter in exchange for seven hundredths of a point of RTP and room to bet bigger. If you want the original numbers with a football theme, this is the one. If you want a gentler version of the same game, it is the other one.
Pros
- It is Le Bandit, and Le Bandit is a good game. The Marked Squares loop is proven, the coin ladder runs to 500x, and nothing has been diluted in the transfer.
- It keeps the full 10,000x ceiling where its same day twin gives up three quarters of it.
- Medium volatility and a 32.4% hit frequency make it one of the more forgiving ways to play a Hacksaw cluster game.
- Super Cascade clears every symbol of a winning type from the grid, not just the cluster, so one win tends to open the board up for the next.
Cons
- Nothing here is new. If you have played Le Bandit you have played this, and the football theme is the entire difference.
- Three RTP models ship, at 96.34%, 94.23% and 92.17%, and the theme gives you no clue which one your casino runs.
- The five scatter round is not on the buy menu, so the best version of the bonus is reels only.
- The base game is a waiting room. Everything worth having sits behind a Rainbow or inside a bonus, and the entry round costs 100x rather than the 50x some listings quote.
Gameplay
Six reels, five rows and cluster pays, so five or more connecting symbols form a win, and stakes run from $0.10 to $100 at a published 96.34%. Two things happen after every win. Super Cascade removes not just the winning cluster but every symbol of that type on the grid, and new ones drop in. Win to Win marks the squares the winners stood on. Those Marked Squares do nothing until a Rainbow lands, at which point they reveal coins worth 0.2x up to 500x, clovers that multiply adjacent coins by 2x to 10x, or Buckets of Gold that sweep up every value on the grid.
The paytable itself tops out at 100x for thirteen or more footballs, which tells you where the money is not. Three, four, or five FS scatters open the three bonus rounds, and that is where the game earns its keep. If any of this sounds familiar, it should. It is the engine that runs Le Bandit, Le Prechaun, Le Pharaoh and Le Vampire, and this is its plainest recent outing.
How To Play
- Set your stake between $0.10 and $100. Clusters need five or more matching symbols touching.
- Wins leave Marked Squares behind them. A win is often only the setup; the Rainbow that opens the squares is the payout.
- Three FS scatters award Luck of the Fan, four award All That Glitters Is Gold, five award Treasure at the End of the Rainbow.
- Watch for buckets once several squares are open. They fire after the clovers, top to bottom and left to right, and each one collects every coin and every other bucket on the grid. If a fresh bucket appears the sweep repeats.
- Check the RTP in the game info before you play. Three models are in circulation.
Bonus Symbols
- Marked Squares. Left behind every winning cluster. Inactive until a Rainbow opens them.
- Rainbow. Opens every Marked Square on the grid after wins are paid, revealing what each was holding.
- Coins. Bronze 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x. Silver 5x, 10x, 15x or 20x. Gold 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x or 500x.
- Four-Leaf Clover. Fires once every coin is revealed and multiplies the coins and buckets on adjacent squares by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x.
- Bucket of Gold. Fires after the clovers, top to bottom and left to right, collecting every coin and every other bucket on the grid into one total. After the last bucket fires, every other Marked Square reveals again, and the loop repeats until no new bucket appears.
- FS scatters. Three, four or five open the three bonus tiers.

The three rounds
- Luck of the Fan. Three scatters, 8 free spins. Marked Squares persist between spins until a Rainbow opens them, then the grid clears and you build again. Two more scatters add 2 spins, three add 4, and four scatters upgrade the whole round to All That Glitters Is Gold with 4 extra spins on top.
- All That Glitters Is Gold. Four scatters, 12 free spins, and the round that changes the math. Squares stay marked even after a Rainbow opens them, so the same positions pay again and again and the board accumulates rather than resets. Retriggers as above.
- Treasure at the End of the Rainbow. Five scatters, 12 free spins, persistent squares, a Rainbow guaranteed on every spin, and no Bronze coins at all, so nothing revealed pays under 5x. The whole grid is cashed every spin and stays there to be cashed again. This is where the 10,000x lives, though the rules note the cap is reachable in the base game and all three rounds.

The returns sit either side of the 96.34% base game by a few hundredths of a point, which is not a difference anyone will feel, so pick on the round you want rather than the number. Three of the four are rated medium and only the 3x hunt is rated high, so nothing on this menu is built to swing.
Treasure at the End of the Rainbow is not on the list. On this title, the five scatter round is reels only, so the version of the bonus most worth having cannot be bought. That is a decision Hacksaw makes game by game rather than a house rule, and here they have made it the same way they did on Le Vampire.
