Horror films are big business these days, and the same could be said for scary slots. Many players like to get their thrills while getting their spins in. Take Nolimit City, for example – much of its catalog is obsessed with the dark and the macabre.

Well, with the release of this new title, Slotmill stakes (pun intended) a claim for one of the premier creepy slots. Eternal Dusk is not all out shocking like Mental or Tombstone Slaughter, but it’s definitely dramatic and spooky, with an epic choir on the soundtrack and rolling purple mist behind the grid.

In terms of the base game, you basically want to line up 3 or more symbols on a 5 x 4 grid in standard paylines, but there’s a Wild Surge mechanic that introduces Wilds at random too. And things really come alive as you head into the bonus round, with Roaming Wilds that build up and float around between each spin. There’s a Multiplier Meter at the top too, and landing Bonus symbols helps you move up through the levels, throwing more and more multipliers into the mix.

This slot feels like it’s doing something a little different, so we have to commend Slotmill. It’s also incredibly immersive and atmospheric.

How To Play

1. Choose your bet size and start spinning.
2. In the base game, the goal is to land 3 or more base symbols on traditional paylines, of which there are 30.
3. During any base game spin, the Wild Surge feature might be randomly triggered, adding 3 to 10 Wild symbols, sometimes with multipliers attached. These Wilds help create paylines by substituting for base symbols. You can also guarantee this feature on every spin for 40x your wager via the Fast Track menu. We would recommend trying this, as it seemed to pay out often for us.
4. Landing 3 or more Bonus symbols will send you into the Free Spins round. You can increase the chance of spinning into this 3x by switching on the Xtra-Bet for 50% more of your wager. Or you can simply buy into the Free Spins for 100x your wager.
5. Now there is a Golden Roaming Wild, plus other standard Roaming Wilds that get added at random. These all remain on the grid for the duration of the round but change position between spins.
6. If you manage to land enough Bonus symbols to fill up the Multiplier Meter, you’ll move on to the next round within this feature. All Roaming Wilds are absorbed into the Golden Roaming Wild, which gathers the multiplier values additively, along with the Stage Multiplier. Then the next round begins. Ideally, you want this now super-charged Golden Roaming Wild to land in paylines for maximum wins.
7. In the base game, landing 2 Bonus symbols plus a Super Bonus symbol will take you into the Super Free Spins round, where there are 2 Golden Roaming Wilds rather than just 1. You can also buy into this round for 500x your wager.

Bonus Features

• Wild Surge: During the base game, 3 to 10 Wilds can land on the grid. Some of these may have multipliers attached. You can guarantee this feature on each spin within the Fast Track menu.
• Free Spins round: In this bonus round, Roaming Wilds and Golden Roaming Wilds become available and help create paylines with multipliers for big wins. Landing Bonus symbols helps fill up the Multiplier Meter above the grid which retriggers further rounds for you.
• Super Free Spins round: Same as the standard bonus round except you have 2 Golden Roaming Wilds for more chances to win big.
• Stage Multiplier: If you progress to the next round of the Free Spins, the Stage Multiplier goes out to the Roaming Wilds to be subsequently gathered by the Golden Roaming Wild, super-charging it.
• Multiplier Meter: This tracks progression through the Free Spins stage. Landing Bonus symbols illuminates the lights (the initial Bonus symbols you landed to enter the Free Spins round will have illuminated some lights for you already).
  • Collecting 6 Bonus symbols in total will retrigger 5 more free spins and award a 2x Stage Multiplier.
