Death Becomes You runs a high-volatility model across a 5-reel, 4-row grid with 14 paylines, so the base game is built around setting up its duels rather than paying steadily on its own. Standard wins are modest, with five matching letter symbols paying 1x, premium symbols paying 2x to 6x, and a line of five wilds worth 10x. The core mechanic is DuelReels: when a VS symbol forms part of a win, it expands to cover the whole reel, turns it wild, and starts a duel between two combatants for a 2x to 100x multiplier, with several DuelReels in the same win combining their values.

The bigger draw is Duel with Death, and spelling DEATH across a row with the low symbols is one of the most valuable things that can happen in the base game. It sets you against the reaper across three lives, starting on a x5 multiplier that climbs with every duel you win, and because that multiplier applies to all the wins it touches, a strong Duel with Death is a genuine route to a big payout rather than a novelty trigger. With the 15,000x max win available in all modes, the appeal is in chaining those multiplier duels until one run goes the distance.
