Today we’re looking at yet another entry in the famous Big Bass series from Pragmatic Play, and for once, it feels like there’s been some worthwhile innovation. It’s still relatively minor, but we’ll take what we can get!

Yes, in the bonus game, each individual square now has its own multiplier that goes up every time a Fish lands on it. This replaces the previous way of increasing multipliers found in titles like Big Bass Splash and Big Bass Amazon Xtreme. That said, you won’t find any fun modifiers in Floats My Boat like you would in those earlier versions.

Apart from the above, things are generally business as usual. You’re playing on a 5 x 3 grid, attempting to land symbols on 10 paylines. 3 or more Scatters take you into the bonus round, where the Fisherman Wild shows up randomly. He gathers up any Fish Money symbols on the grid, awarding you wins, and the aforementioned multipliers on each square take effect.

How To Play

1. Choose your bet size and start spinning.
2. In the base game, the aim is to land 3 or more of the same symbol (2 or more of the top-paying symbol) on traditional paylines, of which there are 10.
3. Sometimes the Fisherman will randomly cast his net across the grid, picking up all the Fish Money symbols (plus multipliers) on-screen for you.
4. Land 3 Scatters to enter the bonus round with 10 free spins, or 4 Scatters = 15 free spins, 5 Scatters = 20 free spins.
5. Now each square has a multiplier on it starting at 1x, and each time a Fish Money symbol lands, the multiplier increases by 1 (in the first level). Working through the levels via the progressive meter means that in the second level, the multipliers increase by 2 every time, and so on.
6. In the bonus round you can land wins on paylines, just like in the base game, but the real wins come when the Fisherman Wild shows up, which is once every few spins. Not only does it act as a Wild symbol, it gathers up all the Fish Money symbols on-screen (and the multiplier for each square applies), plus it lights up one square in the progressive meter up top. For every 4 squares you light up, you retrigger 10 more spins and increase your multiplier level.
7. In the base game you can switch on the ante bet to increase your chance of spinning into the bonus round, or you can buy free spins, or even buy Super free spins. Super means that instead of lighting up 4 squares on the progressive meter to retrigger/increase multiplier level, you only need to light up 3 at a time.

Bonus Features

• Extra Scatter: In the base game, whenever 2 Scatters hit without a third, there is a chance for a third to be brought onto the grid:
  • If the Scatters on-screen can move down a row without leaving the grid, a respin is triggered and the reels without Scatters on spin again.
  • Randomly, an octopus can appear and change one symbol on the grid into a Scatter.
• Free spins round: In this feature, Fisherman Wilds appear randomly and collect all the Fish Money symbols on-screen. Each square on the grid has a multiplier value, starting at 1x, and every time a Fish Money symbol lands on a square it increases the multiplier by 1. Every time the Fisherman collects a Fish Money symbol, it is first multiplied by its multiplier. Every 4 Fisherman collected takes you to the next level, where you retrigger 10 more spins, and the amount that the multipliers increase by increases by 1. There are also a few ways for the grid to improve after a free spin.
  • Randomly, when there are Fisherman Wild symbols but no Fish Money symbols, Fish can appear on random squares. Or, an octopus can appear and change all the symbols except the Wild.
  • Conversely, when there are Fish Money symbols but no Wilds, an octopus can appear and pull up a reel, bringing a Wild onto the grid.
• Ante bet: Increase your wager by 50% to increase your chance of spinning into the bonus round.
• Buy the bonus: You can spend 100x your wager to buy into the standard bonus round, or 300x your wager to buy into the Super bonus round. In the Super version you only need 3 Wilds to move up a level, as opposed to 4.
• Max win: 5,000x, and probability is 1 in 6,146,281.
• Hit frequency: 1 in 8.
