You lucky slots fans have 12 new releases to try out this week – wowzers! Let’s take look.
Loki Loot from BGaming is another Norse mythology-themed slot, so it’s not winning any prizes for originality of theme. The gameplay is fairly standard too, but there’s something a little novel in how you can level up in the bonus round. Also the RTP is 97.20%, so nice and high.
Sticking with BGaming, we also have Mystery Garden this week, which feels like it’s based on the famous book/movie, The Secret Garden. Slots are often all about excitement, glitz, and glamor, whereas Mystery Garden is set in a calming English garden. It looks great and certainly provides a unique and relaxing vibe, if that’s something you’re pining for.
Hacksaw released Invictus and Eye of Medusa (pictured), two slots with a classical-type theme. Both are worth checking out with some nice art direction and fun features, but they were both just nudged out of the Game of the Week spot by King of the Streets from Slotmill.
TaDa Gaming brings us three new titles with Fortune Coins 2, Dropball, and Royal Quest. The latter was not what I expected, but I’m not sure it’s very good either…
Pragmatic Play contributes Waves of Poseidon, Gem Fire Fortune, and Big Bass Rock and Roll this week. The second of these three reminds me of Fruit Party – it’s very much a pick up and play title with no complex mechanics. Then Big Bass Rock and Roll reminds me of Big Bass Vegas Double Down Deluxe, and that’s because it’s basically the same game. In fact, we had Big Bass Boxing Bonus Round only last month, which was also a reskin of BBVDDD! Damn Pragmatic.
To finish off, we have Fire in the Hole 3 by Nolimit City, which follows on from FitH 1 and FitH 2 – who’d have thought it! Long story short, this is the least appealing of the trilogy, so you’re best to stick to the other two and avoid some of the excessive bonus buy totals on offer here.

Game of the Week
King of the Streets takes place in an old-school American gangster setting, but instead of humans, we’ve a cast of gritty, cartoon animal mobsters, including Don Corlion, who is in fact a lion! The game looks great, as we’ve come to expect from Slotmill, and it sounds great too – there’s a smokey, jazzy sax layered over a hip hop beat playing in the background, plus plenty of atmospheric vocal samples.
The main aim in this slot is to land clusters of five or more symbols on the 6 x 6 grid, and winning clusters tumble away, extending the spin until no winning combinations remain.
To boost those win values, we have two types of multipliers:
- Coin symbols, each with multipliers attached, land much like base symbols, and when you get a cluster of five or more, all the multipliers are added together and then multiplied by your wager.
- Multiplier Safes can land at random, increasing your win by up to 500x.
If you land three Bonus symbols, we move from the streets into The Lion’s Den, Don Corlion’s exclusive club. Here the gameplay is largely the same but takes on a Gates of Olympus-style mechanic – when a Multiplier Safe lands with a cluster, it gets added to the Total Multiplier, and this value builds throughout the free spins round to assist with upcoming wins. It’s a mechanic we’re all familiar with, but it can help net you some pretty big sums, just like in Gates.
This slot is heavily based on Coins and Cannons, which Slotmill put out last year, but the gameplay still works, and the gangster animals theme is an improvement too. The RTP and max win remain essentially the same at 96.04% and 15,000x respectively. All in all, it’s another cool, confident release from Slotmill – perfect for players who like their slots with some swagger.
