New Slots Round Up: 31st January – 6th February 2026

It’s a mixed bag of slots (plus 1 instant game) this week, with a couple of tie-ins for sporting events currently taking place – let’s get into it!

Whole Lotta Honey by Gaming Corps has a standout honeycomb grid shape, and as a medium-volatility cluster pays slot, wins come pretty frequently. These wins can be boosted by random multipliers, much like in Gates of Olympus, but the theme couldn’t be further removed from Gates’ drama because this is an incredibly bucolic and relaxing slot.

It’s nice that unused multipliers can effectively trigger the bonus round via the Beehive feature, and this bonus round, again, functions like Gates, with multipliers stacking over the course of the feature. One of the better slots from Gaming Corps recently!

Always Up! x10000 by BGaming is a sequel to Always Up! from a few months ago, and everything has indeed been levelled up. The RTP and max win have been improved, and we now have a bigger grid with double the number of paylines. The bonus game works in the same way, reminiscent of a crash game with a building multiplier – you’ll want to try and pick the firework that flies the highest. Always Up! x10000 will be too basic for some, but I can see it appealing to players who want something simple to spin, and it is an improvement on the original.

Quarterback Champion by Gaming Corps has clearly been released in time for the upcoming Super Bowl, and it’s a game that could divide players. It’s an interesting take on instant games along the lines of Dice or Limbo. You wager an amount of your choice, then select a target for the QB to aim at, each with a different difficulty level and potential payout. Of course, this is a game of chance, not skill, so players have no control over the likelihood of winning. There’s also the chance to spin a bonus wheel whenever you break the target. An interesting instant game, but not for everyone.

Monopoly Rush Hour by Big Time Gaming is the third Monopoly title in quick succession, following on from Monopoly Tapcards and Monopoly Deluxe. This is a tricky game to describe as there’s a lot going on, but it’s a bit like playing the Monopoly board game at the same time as a slot.

Wins are achieved in an all ways pays format as you spin the reels, while counters move around the board when dice symbols appear on the grid. Different spaces trigger different bonuses – you’ll want to land on spaces with houses and hotels mainly. And with a max win of 28,600x, there are certainly big prizes to be had.

Next up is Carioca Vibes from AvatarUX, a studio that can be hit or miss, and I’d call this more of a miss. It’s an incredibly simple slot with a 3 × 3 grid and 9 paylines, plus a wheel mechanic that I assume forms part of the bonus round. I tried to reach it, but the game feels unfinished in its current state. There’s plenty of placeholder text, and when I landed 3 bonus symbols, the whole thing crashed…

Rounding out this section is Winter Trophy Hold and Win from BGaming, clearly designed to tie in with the Winter Olympics currently taking place in Italy. The base game is fairly standard, with 25 paylines on a 5 × 3 grid and a typical free spins round.

The Coin Respin bonus then works like a collect feature, except the coins are transformed into Olympic medals. Also, instead of 3 spins that reset, you get a fixed number of spins that tick down, although you can add more by landing a Whistle. It’s nothing special mechanically and the max win is only 5,642x, but the charming characters and Olympic theme make it worth a few spins.

Game of the Week

In many ways, Ghostly Hallows by Backseat Gaming feels like a spiritual successor to the smash hit Pirate Bonanza slot from the same studio. Both have a pirate theme and feature similar Cannon-triggered mechanics, but there are differences, so will they improve the formula? Let’s find out.

Taking place on a 6 x 5 grid, the core concept in Ghostly Hallows is scatter pays, so players must land 8 or more of the same symbol anywhere on the board to trigger a scatter win. Then the special mechanic which spices things up works via multipliers (2x-1,024x) that land on random squares, sitting behind the base symbols.

If a multi is ever sitting behind a winning symbol, it floats off into the hands of the skeleton pirate sat on the left. However, the multiplier can only be applied to the win total if there’s also a Cannon on the grid at the same time – those who’ve played Pirate Bonanza will be able to see the similarities, but also the differences.

The tricky thing is that you’ll often have multipliers stacked up on the left but no Cannon to trigger them, and this can feel frustrating. You can activate the Cursed FeatureSpins for 50x the bet to guarantee a Cannon on every spin, but I’m not a fan of needing bonus buys to keep a game exciting, especially when they cost 50x.

In the bonus rounds, the problem is solved somewhat by the multipliers persisting until being triggered by Cannons, but there’s still thepossibility that a Cannon won’t land, and this feels a bit wasteful and disappointing. A more dynamic mechanic for the second bonus round might have been guaranteed Cannons.

You can land sizeable wins in Ghostly Hallows, but it feels like a bit of a struggle. Slots are funny old things, because Pirate Bonanza feels more rewarding and as if there’s more of a chance of a big win on any spin – but technically the returns should be the same over time as the RTPs are almost identical (96.31% for Pirate Bonanza and 96.30% for Ghostly Hallows).

Looking on the bright side, the haunted pirate ship theme is done well – the animations in particular – and the max win of 20,000x could tempt some players in. It’s the most original game this week, but personally, it just made me want to play Pirate Bonanza instead.

That being said, make sure to give it a go below and see what you think for yourself.
