Clover Coins 3×3 from Tada Gaming is a very standard slot and nothing to write home about, but Golden Pinata Hold and Win provides something a bit more original. Can we rely on Pragmatic Play for a strong finish with its two new titles? This studio is always consistent and professional, but rarely brings us anything creative and unique these days. When you hear ‘juicy’ in the world of slots, it usually means a fruit machine-style game. But in Jumbo Juicy, the new medium volatility title from Relax Gaming, it’s literal: the game is themed around a juice bar, with glistening cubes of fruit forming the symbols.
The first thing that strikes you once the slot loads is how chilled out everything feels; Relax is 100% living up to its name here, with breezy, tropical music and colorful yet calming visuals on-screen.
The idea is to land clusters of five or more of the same fruit, and when you manage this, the cluster disappears, taking with it any other instances of that symbol from the grid. And those extra symbols are key in this game, which is something of a novel twist. Let’s say you banish three – that will fill up the meter to the right of the grid by three notches. Then, as the meter reaches higher and higher, the multiplier at play increases.
It’s a little unusual having no tumble mechanic at play, per se. Instead of symbols dropping down to fill in the gaps, they remain in place while new symbols simply appear in the empty spaces. It’s similar to tumbling as the spin extends with cluster wins, but with a different feel.
In the bonus round, it’s much of the same, but the multiplier meter retains its level for the duration of the feature (rather than resetting every spin).
