New Slots Round Up: 11th April – 17th April 2026

It’s another week of slots demos with plenty of instant win symbols and respin rounds this time. A couple of standout titles manage to break through, but which ones are they? Read on to find out.

buzz patrol mini game

Buzz Patrol from Bullshark could be one for players who like those instant win symbols. Personally, I’m not a big fan as there’s not much magic to it – you’re basically just waiting for multipliers to climb as high as possible, and that’s most of what you’ll be doing here. The base game is pretty dry, and every few spins you’ll trigger a Mini Game symbol, bringing up a 3 x 3 grid where insects with multipliers land in a Hold & Win-style feature. It is medium volatility though, so better for players who like smaller wins to land often.

Moving on, the best thing about Wild Zombies is perhaps the 97.03% RTP, meaning you’ll get good bang for your buck here. The base game works on a 5 x 4 grid with 16 paylines, and the main special symbol is the Brain Jar, a multiplier wild holding a value from 1x – 200x. Then, if you land 3 on the same spin, this will trigger respins, where the goal is to pile up more Brain Jars before the 3 spin counter runs down to 0, creating winning lines in the process. The fun level is about what I’ve come to expect from developer Popiplay – not bad, but not amazing either.

Big Bucks Blitz – Bonus Pot by Gaming Corps offers little to get excited about either. To sum up, it’s an all ways pays slot with a 4-tier jackpot, and the standout feature is the free spins where money symbols build up in the titular ‘bonus pot’. However, it’s not guaranteed that the total will be paid out to you – maybe it will, maybe it won’t. If it doesn’t, it’s pretty anticlimactic, to be honest.

grand buffalo hold and win respins

Experienced slot players should be able to get a good idea of what Grand Buffalo Hold & Win by BGaming offers from the name alone. It’s definitely inspired by classic land-based slots like Buffalo Link, and even Dragon Link – because the main special symbol is the Fireball (more instant win symbols), reminding me of Dragon Link’s Orbs. The RTP is not bad at 96.70%, while the 5,000x max win is pretty low. Still, if you want to feel like you’re playing a land-based slot, this could be a good choice for you.

Now a couple of titles from Peter & Sons who always create the most visually interesting games. Roadquake seems to have taken a lot of inspiration from Mad Max, and maybe even the F-Zero series of Nintendo games. Roadquake is clearly based around some kind of futuristic road race, while the gameplay is in the vein of Sugar Rush – scatter pays and doubling multipliers on squares that are involved in wins. But Peter & Sons has added in plenty of special features to boost the multipliers like Rockets, Miniguns, and Bombs. Things really do heat up in the bonus round too, so this was my second favorite title this week.

Then Tango of Chaos is based around some kind of mad scientist/Jekyll and Hyde story. It looks a little strange at first glance, as around half the board will be dead squares on an average spin. Still, you’ll be looking to form wins in an all ways pays manner, as well as trigger features like the Transformation Syringes which choose random symbols and turn them all into the same type to build wins. Clearly, a lot of effort goes into the intricate cartoon style that this studio is known for, but sometimes its gameplay can feel a bit lacking – like it never truly gets going, and I’d say that’s the case here unfortunately.

Prince of Purrwood slot base game

This brings us to Prince of Purrwood by AvatarUX, a game full of cats who’ve been transplanted into the leafy world of Robin Hood. This one can be pretty fun, with the bottom two rows of the grid holding blocker squares which can be smashed up when you land a tumbling win. Not only does this bring that square into use for the remaining tumbles, but it also engages the multiplier written on the square, adding it to the global multiplier on the left. Prince of Purrwood has a nice rhythm, then I realised it’s basically a reskin of Sphinx Treasure by the same studio which came at the end of last year!

To round this section out, it’s worth mentioning we recently added EdgeLabs to our list of slots providers. You can now check out this studio’s back catalog including popular titles like Blue Bird Bonus and Mark of Z here on SweepsPlays.

OK, let’s move on to the week’s Game of the Week below.

Game of the Week

Red Rascal is another vintage cartoon-looking slot from Hacksaw. It’s an aesthetic the studio dips into time and time again (see Le Bandit, Donny Dough, Hot Ross etc.), and you have to admit, it usually looks great.

In fact, I’d go as far as saying the theme, look, and music in Red Rascal are what really make it. The gameplay is fun too, but it’s not quite 10/10 in that department. Still in a slow week, Red Rascal does enough to stand out and earn plenty of spins.

So what is the gameplay? Well, we have a 5 x 5 grid and 19 paylines with 5 low-paying and 5 high-paying symbols, while the special symbols are Wilds, Coins, and the all-important Rascals. Yes, when 3 or more Rascal symbols land, they stick to the grid and trigger a respin round where only Rascals and dead spaces can land.

All the Rascal symbols that land become sticky and the respins continue until no new Rascals land (it’s similar to a Hold & Win round). Then, when Rascal symbols settle in a square formation of 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 they merge to form a Colossal Rascal symbol!

You’ll also see a pendulum above the grid which switches back and forth between Coin mode and Wild mode in the respins. You should pay attention, because the symbol the arrow is pointing at when the round ends decides what the Rascals will turn into. The Coins just pay out instant wins, but the Wilds get used in the next regular spin, and with so many on the board, you’re bound to land some juicy wins. Also, if you bagged any Colossal Rascals, these will have multipliers attached too!

I much preferred getting the Rascals over Coins, and I bagged some huge wins during my test session (the max possible win is 15,000x here). You’ll also come across free spins over 3 levels, depending on how many FS scatter symbols you land. These mostly just replicate the base game with more Rascal symbols – those really are the key here.

It’s not going to go down as a classic, but Red Rascal is another fun, high volatility, vintage cartoon slot from Hacksaw, and I can recommend it for this weekend’s demo play.
