New Slots Round Up: 6th September – 12th September 2025

It’s our second slots round up since the Pragmatic Play departure, and the games are a little thin on the ground. As a result, we’re working hard to add more providers to our roster, like Gaming Corps, an up-and-coming developer based out of Malta/Ukraine.

Let’s start with that studio’s Anubis vs Horus: Twin Titans slot, which is new this week. You can guess from the name, it’s an Egyptian-themed title, and it centers on the legendary rivalry between Anubis, the jackal-headed god of the dead and Horus, the falcon-headed sky god.

On the third reel here you’ll find two special squares, and if you land Anubis or Horus you’ll create the possibility for features like collecting up all the coin symbols on-grid. And if you land both gods on the same spin, you can trigger a bonus round where the two stay on-screen as wilds.

There’s nothing we haven’t seen before, with a four-tier jackpot system thrown in for good measure. The RTP is also sub-96%, which isn’t ideal, but overall Anubis vs Horus: Twin Titans is a promising sign of things to come from Gaming Corps.

Next we have Dead Men Walking from a considerably more established studio: Nolimit City. The central character here is a medieval executioner, and the whole theme is fleshed out in a way that only NLC can pull off.

In terms of gameplay, there’s the usual array of features, like xWays, xNudge, and xSplit. The xNudge Wild is actually represented by the condemned man, who, once he appears, wanders one reel to the left between spins, before dropping away.

We also have an Infectious Wild feature which can turn a random symbol and all its instances into Wilds. It’s a little odd that features like this are triggered randomly after landing a scroll symbol. Why not just land the scroll and always trigger the feature?

Anyway, the bonus spins are more reliable; if you trigger them with 3, 4, or 5 Gold Bonus symbols, you’ll enter a Hold and Win-esque round but with added bells and whistles. As usual, there are plenty of Bonus Buy options, and while it’s not another instant classic from NLC, it’s a solid new slot with high volatility and a 25,313x max win.

We end this section on a bit of a bum note with Gold and Glory from Popiplay. Yes, any thoughts of this release challenging Pirate Bonanza for the title of best pirate-themed slot should be banished immediately! Gold and Glory has a coin collection feature, plus a Hold and Win round with jackpots, but there’s nothing to really hold your attention here.

Let’s move on to our Game of the Week below. It’s called Sun Princess and it comes from Hacksaw Gaming.

Game of the Week

Sun Princess is another anime-style slot from Hacksaw, reminding me of Aiko and the Wind Spirit as well as Rainbow Princess and Cloud Princess from over the last year. Those other two ‘Princess’ games were scatter pays with medium volatility, whereas Sun Princess is medium volatility but cluster pays.

Vitally, this game has a more interesting special feature in the form of Sun Rays. These are special symbols which work vertically, horizontally, or both combined; shooting across the grid, they create more instances of whichever symbol the ray is emanating from.

If the ray hits an instance of that symbol already on the grid, another ray is spawned, and sometimes you’ll end up with a big chain reaction and basically the whole grid turning into one symbol, which equals big wins.

At first it feels strange that there’s no tumbling/cascading after every win, but you soon get used to it, and the flow of the cluster pays (5 or more) plus the Sun Rays creates a unique rhythm.

The game’s main weak point is that the standard bonus round doesn’t really add much extra, just a higher chance of landing Sun Rays. The second bonus feature adds in Sticky Wild Multipliers, which is better, but, of course, this level of bonus round is hard to trigger.

Fortunately, you can buy the bonus, as well as activate a feature than guarantees at least 1 Sun Ray lands per spin. That’s great, but I’m always wary of these slots that practically force you into buying the bonus to have some fun.

Sun Princess does carve out its own style. For me, a Game of the Week doesn’t have to be flawless or destined to become a classic – ideally it should bring something fresh to the table, and Sun Princess does that.

The theme is ethereal, sunny, and relaxing, which won’t be to everyone’s taste, but the 96.29% RTP and 10,000x max win, along with the Sun Rays concept make this worth trying out. And you can do so below!
