New Slots Round Up: 5th July – 11th July 2025

After a busy roundup last week, we have a very small selection of new slots in this edition. Is there anything worth playing? Let’s take a look…

TaDa Gaming has a somewhat curious back catalogue so far. Dated-looking fruit machine-style slots, fish shooters, and then some impressive modern-style slots like Big Boss from last week. 20 Blazing Clover falls into the first category, but it’s actually playable thanks to the expanding wilds feature. There’s also a jackpot feature that triggers randomly, and you have to pick face-down cards to land a win. It’s not all that original, but it could be up your street.

Next, we have three new titles from Pragmatic Play. The first is Plinko+, a souped-up version of Plinko where you can select the number of pins on the board and the level of risk, increasing your possible multipliers. With an RTP of 97.50%, it’s better than some slots in that regard.

However, slots is what we’re here for, so let’s look at Argonauts and Zombie School Megaways. The former is ancient Greek-themed title, as the name implies, and it’s an all-ways-pays game with money symbols. Essentially, when you land a Wild Collector symbol, it hoovers up any money symbols on the board. And when you get six money symbols on a spin, you’ll enter the bouns round, which is of the hold and win variety. With the usual Pragmatic polish, it’s not bad.

Then Zombie School Megaways is our Game of the Week, so do read on for that…

Game of the Week

Zombie School Megaways triggered two thoughts in my mind immediately. One, it feels like a Nolimit City game with its chilling soundtrack and bloody aesthetic, and two, it seems heavily inspired by the cult classic Japanese movie, Battle Royale. Yes, we have some kind of ‘violent Japanese schoolkids plus zombies’ vibe going on, which is not what you’d usually expect from Pragmatic, but it is a studio that could benefit from thinking outside the box a little.

As for the gameplay: well, this is a tumbling Megaways game. It’s not a sequel, as far as I’m aware – this is the first Zombie School game, and it happens to be Megaways from the off. Of course, you’re aiming to land symbols of the same type from left to right, and when you land 3 or more, you’ll score a win. Wilds and Scatter symbols help out too, with four or more Scatters sending you into the bonus feature.

Here the wins can get pretty tasty, as each one receives a multiplier according to the amount of total winning symbols on that tumble. It’s not uncommon to get 10x or more, and things quickly become significantly more exciting than the base game. Of course, you can buy into this round for 100x your bet, plus there’s a special second option that you can’t spin into, but you can buy it for 500x your bet. Here the multipliers persist over the whole round, building gradually into a potentially massive figure, so it’s definitely worth trying out.

Zombie School Megaways feels like a rare moment of experimentation from Pragmatic – it’s bloodier, weirder, and more self-aware than their usual output. It’s still a fairly standard Megaways framework underneath, but the gruesome theme and high-volatility bonus options leave a lasting impression. With an RTP of 96.55% and a max win of 10,000x, why not give it a go below?
