Another week, another Le Bandit slot from Hacksaw, but Le Vampire does make some worthwhile changes compared to recent entries like Le Clubber and Le Bandit Hold and Win. The foundation is still Le Bandit and its cluster pays, alongside Golden Squares that become Special symbols when a Rainbow lands. But now we also get Blood Squares, which can only reveal Silver Coins or higher, while the free spins feature a meter tracking whether you’ve landed at least 1 cluster of each high-paying symbol.

Fill it up and you’ll get extra free spins, while lighting all 4 symbols guarantees a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow. The cartoon visuals are also done really well, with Smokey the Raccoon dressed as Dracula and living in a mansion, all a bit reminiscent of Hacksaw’s The Count from October last year. And the RTP isn’t bad either, at 96.36%.

MLK Voyage х50,000 from Delulu Gaming is a reskin of MLK Voyage, one of only a handful of slots released so far by this fledgling studio. The original was well-received, and Delulu has seen fit to put out this new version only a couple of months later with an increased max win of 50,000x and a slightly decreased RTP of 96.01%. It’s an easy way to bulk out the catalog a little, but I’m looking forward to something new from this developer, particularly something that isn’t a 3-pot slot.

Demonic Dolls is the second slot from Hacksaw Gaming this week (there are actually 6 in total, by the way). The theme here is cartoonish voodoo dolls that seem to have come to life, and there’s more than a bit of a Gremlins feel to the whole situation. Clusters of 5 or more form wins on the 5 x 5 grid, while Wild Rattle symbols land randomly (or can be bought in the bonus buy menu) to trigger respins where they float around the grid.

They can also combine into Colossal symbols when a win is formed, and the respins continue as long as 2 of the standard Wild Rattles or 2 of the Colossal Wild Rattles are part of the same win. Basically, it’s not often that you get a big chain of respins. In the bonus round, the chances of landing Wild Rattles are increased, along with other benefits. All things considered, it’s just one of those fun and simple, Hacksaw-esque slots, but it’s nice to see a new IP from the studio at least.

Cloudforge from Relax is 1 of 2 new slots from this supplier, and it’s not quite the best – you’ll find the other in our Game of the Week section below – but it is great fun. It’s a medium volatility game with 20 paylines and Expanding Wilds, with these Wilds growing upwards to form wins and adding 1 to a starting multiplier each time they expand. Also, when a reel becomes electric, any Wild on it will expand both ways, while landing 2 Wilds on the same reel allows their multiplier values to combine.

Then, in the bonus round, these Wild multipliers also feed into a global multiplier, giving you another way to build your wins. The theme is futuristic and seems to take inspiration from Jules Verne novels while adding in some kind of concept on the extermination of robot insects. Anyway, all of the gameplay features come together nicely to make this another satisfying release from Relax.

The original Extra Chilli slot was released by Big Time Gaming in 2018, just as the Megaways trend was really starting to spread. Well, the studio has decided to revisit this franchise with the newly-released Extra Chilli More Chilli, adding in the pots concept – a mechanic that’s trending right now, but many players, including me, are already bored of it. Megaways feels quite passé by this point too, so adding 4 pots into this game just makes it feel somewhere both trends have gone to die.

It doesn’t help that the visuals haven’t moved on since 2018 either – I find the look of Big Time’s slots strange in general, with an almost 90s CGI feel, and this one looks particularly garish. It’s almost hard to look at. It’s worth loading up to see how funny the digital pots of chilli con carne look, but other than that, I’m just not interested in this game and its 4 bonus rounds. RTP and max win do redeem things a little at 96.82% and 20,000x respectively.

Unleashed Chaos is the fifth title in Hacksaw’s Chaos Crew series if we count Chaos Crew Scratch, with Chaos Crew 3 arriving just 11 months ago. Well, Cranky Cat, Sketchy Skull and the Glitch Dog are back, and honestly, I can barely see any difference from the last game. The presentation has been tweaked slightly, but the gameplay and even the stats are exactly the same – 96.18% RTP and a 30,000x max win. The last game was amazing, but I’m struggling to see the point of a reskin, unless I’m missing something…

In fact, the other 2 new Hacksaw slots seem to be following a similar theme. LIT City seems to be a reskin of RIP City with tweaked graphics but a lower RTP, and Spicy SixSixSix does the same with SixSixSix, but maintaining the RTP. Maybe these basic changes have been made just so Hacksaw can roll out a few more casino-exclusives?

We stay with Hacksaw for Decay, a dark, zombie apocalypse-themed slot played across 35 paylines on a 6 x 5 grid. It is a new game, and like Demonic Dolls, it has 1 main special feature that the whole game is built around, keeping things simple in a typically Hacksaw way. Here, that’s SwitchSpins: when a Switch symbol lands, it triggers a respin and replaces a certain symbol with the highest-paying symbol (the Clown) or a Wild.

The bonus rounds give you 10 free spins with a higher chance of landing Switch symbols, while the second tier preserves the replaced symbols for the duration of the round, meaning you can eventually end up with a grid covered in Clowns or Wilds. The problem is that the chances of triggering this round are small. You can buy in for 250x your bet, but this mainly feels like another case of Hacksaw creating a naturally dry game and then pushing players to bonus buy to make it fun.

Udder Carnage from Gaming Corps rounds out this section; it’s an all ways pays slot with a relatively low RTP of 95.79% and a max win of 10,000x. The theme seems to involve cows and aliens, which reminds me of AgroCulture and Aliens Among Us from earlier this year. Do aliens always come for cattle in particular? Apparently so, and there are 3 different cows here, each sporting a different colored headband and – you guessed it – each one triggers a different Hold & Win bonus round. There’s even a Super Bonus Round with boosted benefits from all 3. I’m just really bored of this trend now. How much longer will it go on for? We’re milking this cow completely dry.

Game of the Week

You could argue that Money Train is Relax’s most famous series – the thing that put it on the map in the slots space. Of course, we’ve had the spin-off Money Cart series too, making the bold move of breaking off the legendary Hold and Win round and spinning a whole game out of it.

Each title has tweaked the formula and the setting, but Money Train 4 in 2023 was meant to be the last in the series. It moved the action away from Earth and changed the base game from paylines to scatter pays, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a fan-favorite quite like the earlier editions. Maybe the futuristic space setting took away too much of the original charm? Well, now it feels like Relax is going back on its word to make up for that disappointment with Money Train 5.

It’s hard to tell, but we might be back on Earth, although it’s certainly a futuristic, dystopian version where people wear gas masks and everything looks evil and menacing, including trains. The Wild West thread has still been maintained within all this, though, and we’re back to paylines in the base game – 40 of them, just like before. You can land Wilds to help form winning lines, and there’s also a chance to trigger the Nuclear Wild in the base game. This is where bombs are planted across the reels, which then turn into full Wild Reels if they’ll help form a win.

But Money Train – and certainly Money Cart – has always been about the bonus round. It’s triggered by landing 3 or more Bonus symbols here, and it’s still a Hold and Win round, but with so many power-ups and extra features that it feels almost nothing like the Hold and Win rounds on a standard casino slot.

On top of the usual chaos, we have the new concept of Tickets, which can land and advance you to Stations 1-5 stops ahead. By doing this, reels essentially move off the grid and the multipliers contained within are collected, freeing up more space. Reaching Stations 5, 10, 15, and 20 unlocks major benefits too: Persistent Symbols, an extra row, the Bomber and Pyromancer, and Permanent Payer respectively.

Yes, there’s still a dizzying amount of characters and options that can benefit your grid in myriad ways, including the Arms Dealer and the Ticket Master. This symbiosis of the theme and gameplay has always been a major draw to Money Train slots, and it’s maintained here, along with the cinematic feel we’ve come to know and love. In fact, the drama feels so far above your average slot that it makes other games feel tame in comparison.

Volatility is once again high, and the max win is a massice 100,000x, although you’ll likely want to switch on Ultra mode to reach this (this wasn’t available at the time of review). RTP is 96.10%, and there are plenty of options in the bonus buy menu to play Money Train 5 just as you like.

Put simply, it’s another masterpiece in one of the greatest slot series of all time, and after Money Train 4’s lackluster reception, it’s great to see Relax returning to what made the series so compelling in the first place, plus some nice additions.
