New Slots Round Up: 19th September – 25th September 2026

As we get closer to Halloween, some of the slots start to get a bit more spooky, so let’s dig in and see what horrors the studios have cooked up this week.

Divine Queen: Power of Sun slot bonus game

We start with Divine Queen: Power of Sun from BGaming, which is not a Halloween-themed title and can be summed up pretty easily as a tumbling scatter pays slot with doubling cell multipliers. It’s similar to Sugar Rush, except that game was cluster pays. The theme here is some kind of Ancient Egypt thing, and in the bonus round, the cell multipliers are maintained for the course of the feature rather than resetting with each spin. The 97% RTP is actually pretty generous, although I don’t think there’s enough here to make it particularly memorable.

Tempting Treats by AvatarUX is getting us significantly nearer a spooky mood, and it’s another game with cell multipliers, except that these increment by 1, rather than doubling. It’s also cluster pays, giving it a slightly different feel from Divine Queen: Power of Sun. It takes place over a fairly sizable 7 x 7 grid, and we have roaming Wilds too, helping spur on the action. Unfortunately, the artwork looks AI-generated to me, to the point where the main character – a kind of Hot Topic alt girl – looks different in various images. So overall, it feels a bit like AI slop, and the 96.16% RTP is pretty standard too, so there’s not much to get excited about there either.

Cats Love Yummy is another one from BGaming, this time set in a cozy house full of felines. I’m not sure what ‘Yummy’ refers to, but the whole vibe is cute and cuddly, with orange sunlight pouring in through the windows. The gameplay takes place on a 5 x 3 grid, plus an extra Cats Jackpot reel that can land either a dead symbol or a jackpot. When a jackpot lands, certain combinations of symbols on the main grid can trigger a Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand prize. For example, having all 5 of the high-paying cat symbols present will trigger the Grand.

The idea of having to land a particular combination to unlock different jackpots is kind of cool, and reminds me of trying to collect the right cards for a hand in poker or something. It’s a simple enough concept, although the cute cats and cozy setting are probably going to be more important to its appeal than anything else. You certainly won’t be playing this for the max win of just 1,500x.

Monkey Gods of the Inca from Relax Gaming is a 3-pot game at heart, but I’m thankful that studios seem to be playing with the format a bit more lately, rather than just pumping out the same hold & win-based slot over and over again (although we do have one of those later). The tweak in Monkey Gods of the Inca is that the effects from the 3 pots (Transform and Shuffling Symbols, Expanded Reels, Multiplier Wild Reels) can hit on any spin in the base game. Of course, they’re represented by the 3 monkeys/god sat at the top of the grid, and at least 1 hits on every spin in the bonus game. In fact, more than 1 can hit at the same time, and this is when you’ll likely see the best results. So it’s not like the standard 3-pot games where you get 1 effect for the duration of the bonus game. Monkey Gods of the Inca is a bit different, so I’ll say it’s an improvement for now. It also comes with the usual polish we can expect from Relax.

NUUKD from Shady Lady feels like a rare dud from this team – it’s by no means a bad game, but it doesn’t live up to the usual high standards of Shady Lady. The theme seems to be based around some kind of post-nuclear-bomb world, but it veers off into the strange – it’s a bit like Sheeple in that sense, although it’s hard to figure out what the ‘story’ is here exactly. The gameplay takes place on a slightly unusual 5 x 6 grid, with wins landing on 25 paylines. Symbols seem to appear in batches, giving the game less of a random feel, while the Mother Meter to the right of the grid tracks symbols destroyed by Babydrills, and filling each of its 4 sections unlocks a different power-up. We’ve been seeing a few games using similar progression systems lately, namely Doctor Dust and Toy Crush, but none of them have quite nailed it like the OG, Gems Bonanza.

In NUUKD, the Babydrills can also uncover Canisters, which either turn into symbols of the same type or multipliers (that’s one of the Mother Meter power-ups, for example). The bonus round simply maintains your progress on the meter between spins, but it’s difficult to trigger naturally. I did finish ‘up’ at the end of my test session, but there’s just something off here. Things don’t come together in the way they usually do with Shady Lady games, leaving NUUKD feeling more like a collection of different ideas than a genuinely cohesive slot. The 96.08% RTP is fairly ordinary too, although the max win is decent at 20,000x.

Speaking of 3-pot titles, Hacksaw brings us another with 3 Adventures of Alice Hold & Win. It’s far from the first from this studio, with 3 Magic Piggy Banks, Tres Pinatas, and 3 Cursed Chests all coming over the last few months. Does this new one stand out? Short answer: no. This is the kind of formulaic 3-pot game I was glad to have avoided earlier. We’ve seen it a million times before, now with an Alice in Wonderland theme, which isn’t the most original choice either.

Hades’ Domain from Backseat Gaming is pretty easy to understand, with the main mechanic being scatter pays – you need 8 matching symbols anywhere on the 6 x 5 grid for a win, while Soul Multipliers can appear in 5 different tiers. The higher tiers come with bigger potential multipliers, with Tier 5 reaching 250x, and these are applied to your scatter wins once everything has been counted. The setting is exactly what you’d expect from the title, with Hades looming over the grid and Cerberus making an appearance alongside the other Greek mythology-inspired symbols.

3 Bonus symbols trigger the free spins, where Soul Multipliers become more common. You can also buy the bonus with various options, including one that guarantees a Soul Multiplier on every spin. It’s a pretty straightforward game, as is often the case with Backseat, but those multipliers can help you score some big wins if they land right.

Game of the Week

Ding Dong Death is basically a Nolimit City crossover, bringing back characters from games like Das xBoot, San Quentin, and Blood & Shadow, although they’ve all been given the black-and-white cartoon treatment this time. Hacksaw does this kind of thing quite a lot, so that’s perhaps where NLC got the idea from? The characters look pretty cool in their more sinister forms too, although you could question the quality of the animation and sound compared with older NLC releases.

Moving onto gameplay, Ding Dong Death is basically an all-ways-pay slot where every tumble contributes to the Death Meter. Fill 3 spots and 1 of the high-paying symbols gets turned into a Wild for the rest of the spin, with the character also getting a suitably unhinged zombie makeover.

That can obviously lead to more wins, which in turn gives you more opportunities to fill the meter. It’s very reminiscent of the meter in the bonus round of The Crypt, so if you’ve played that, this won’t feel 100% original. However, the meter is present in both modes here. It’s just that in the base game, it starts over after every spin, while the bonus round lets you keep building it throughout the feature.

There are plenty of other mechanics thrown into the mix too, and I probably wouldn’t recommend trying to understand all of them at once. This is very much one of those NLC games where things can get pretty hectic pretty quickly, and the theme seems to have been made with Halloween in mind.

The 95.83% return to player percentage is on the low side, and it’s worth noting that NLC apparently changed the RTP around the time of release, which caused some confusion between different listings. So I’m not sure this is one of the studio’s more memorable releases, but there’s enough going on when the mechanics start firing to make it worth a look if you like the more chaotic side of Nolimit City – or just want to get in the mood for October 31.
