New Slots Round Up: 5th September – 11th September 2026

We had Spicy SixSixSix a couple of weeks ago, which just changed the look of classic Hacksaw slot SixSixSix a little. This week we have Epic SixSixSix, which at least makes some changes to the game mechanics and stats (while tweaking the visuals again). The changes are nothing major, but now you can buy the third tier of bonus round (for 1,000x your wager) and guarantee a Red Wicked Wheel with a 1 in 11 chance of max win in the base game (for 2,000x your wager). Also, the max win has been boosted to 20,666x, while the RTP rises slightly to 96.27%. If you’re into high-spend bonus buys, there’s something here for you, although it does feel like Hacksaw is increasingly designing its games around them.

Coffee Dealer is another new slot from Hacksaw – one which reminds me of the Cuphead aesthetic. In fact, one of the main characters here is the Coffee Cup, and the whole game is drawn in a vintage animation style, but in color rather than the predominant black and white of slots like SixSixSix. The Coffee Cup can turn into a Wild Coffee Reel if a win is available – this is basically an expanding wild reel, sometimes with a random multiplier attached.

It’s a concept Hacksaw has used many times before. Hot Ross and Dorks of the Deep spring to mind, so there’s nothing particularly new to the gameplay. The first bonus round simply increases the chance of landing Wild Coffee Reels, while the second one offers the chance to guarantee Coffee Cups if a Wild Coffee Reel has landed already on that reel. Players might get a kick out of the colorful cartoon theme that positions coffee as some kind of illicit drug, but it’s nothing too original gameplay-wise.

Age of Oblivion from Bullshark Games seems to be a reskin of Age of Seth from last year, but it’s not a bad title, so let’s go over what it does.

This is a tumbling cluster pays slot with a glowing neon Ancient Egypt aesthetic (that’s been tweaked a little from the original). There’s a progressive meter that records all the winning symbols, with every 10 wins unlocking a power-up (Colossal, Replace, and Wild Symbol) for the grid. The meter dealing out power-ups is a concept Bullshark keeps returning to – we saw Lemur Levels use it earlier this year and Doctor Dust only last week. But the OG slot in this style is Gems Bonanza, and none of these Bullshark games have ever topped that.

Gems Bonanza had an excellent balance where it felt like every spin could somehow kickstart the chain reaction, but Age of Oblivion just doesn’t have that sense. If you do somehow manage to hit 40 winning symbols, you’ll unlock the bonus round, where another power-up is added in (Surge). So Age of Oblivion is not a bad game, but, as usual with Bullshark, it just fails to deliver that definitive X factor that makes you want to come back for more.

Low volatility slots are pretty rare but Edge Labs brings us one with Lanterns Rising. Unfortunately, low volatility usually means a low max win – 1,000x in this case, with an RTP of 96%. Also, this is pretty much the same game as Pirates Rising from earlier in the year – both are part of the Rising Star Jackpots series, but Lanterns Rising has a Chinese theme. The gameplay is actually kind of cool, at least in the bonus round where Rising Stars move up the Jackpot Tower to unlock sums for you. The visuals do look bit dated though, and the view is forced mobile-style, even on desktop.

We stay with Edge Labs for Viking’s Voyage of Fortune. This one is medium volatility with a 5,000x max win, but the RTP remains the same at 96%. Wins fall on 25 paylines, and you’ll see straight away that the grid is technically 5 x 3, but the first 2 reels are somewhat separate. That’s because at the beginning of every spin, the Viking Warrior Track has a chance to trigger, and this pulls a symbol from the options on the very left of the screen and applies it to all 6 spaces on the first 2 reels.

Then reels 3, 4, and 5 are converted into a giant symbol, so there’s a chance you can line up a whole grid of the same symbol. It’s actually quite a good mechanic, creating one of the better Edge Labs games I’ve played. Of course, the theme is vikings, and it looks OK overall, if a little dated again – but at least the full screen is utilized on desktop.

Next, Strawberry Land from Backseat Gaming is one of the most basic new slots you could play this year. It’s basically a 12-payline game with the possibility of Wild Multipliers – that go sticky in the bonus round – and that’s about it! It’s gobsmacking that Backseat might release something so basic in 2026. The cute and colorful cartoon farm theme is fun, but it’s nowhere near enough to disguise the fact that this feels like a slot from 10 years ago, mechnanically.

Can De Rat Heist from the same studio do any better? This is an all ways pays slot, offering 4,096 lines on a 6 x 4 grid, and the theme seems to be based around a cartoon rat planning… a heist. I guess the clue is in the name. It’s a very simple slot again, with Wild Multipliers as the main special symbol, but at least there’s something extra here.

Namely, winning lines remain on the grid while the rest of the board respins, potentially landing further wins. It’s an improvement on Strawberry Land, but it still feels basic, especially when the bonus rounds only offer more Wild Multipliers or Sticky Wild Multipliers. I just feel like Backseat Gaming is phoning it in with every release now, especially because I’m pretty sure the art is AI-generated. It’s like, what’s the point?

Anyway, onto something better with our Game of the Week below.

New Slots

Duck Hunters by Nolimit City was one of the most popular slots of 2025, taking the cell multiplier idea from Sugar Rush and ratcheting up the intensity. Then we did get Duck Hunters: Happy Hour at the start of this year, but not too much changed there, so it’s nice to get a proper sequel in the form of Duck Hunters 2.

This is still the same concept overall, but it’s implied that the ducks are now fighting back against the hunters! It’s funny because last week we had Wild Wild Duck by Popiplay with a very similar feel, clearly riffing on Duck Hunters. I’m not sure whether it was a coincidence or not that they both have ducks fighting back, but I’m sure Duck Hunters 2 is going to get more attention.

What else has changed here? Well, the setting is different – we’re now in a forest rather than someone’s backyard, and the way the Bomb symbol works is altered too. Before, it blew away all symbols in a 3 x 3 square whenever it landed, doubling the cell multipliers in the process. But now it waits until the tumbles have settled, then removes itself and all symbols above it on the reel. Plus, it increases the cell multiplier of its own square by 2x, the square above by 4x, and so on.

Yes, the cell multiplier mechanic on winning squares is still in full effect, doubling up in a 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. pattern. But whereas it could only reach 128x before, it can now go as high as 16,384x, which is just monstrous! Tumbling scatter pays remain too, so you’ll be looking to land 8 or more of the same symbol. It also seems like random squares get random multipliers at the start of each spin.

xWays and Infectious xWays symbols work in the same way as before, and the bonus round is broadly the same too (with a wheel spin for added power-ups before the round begins). So cell multipliers build over the course of the feature rather than resetting with each spin, but there are some extra features added that up the chaos somewhat.

In terms of stats, the max win has gone from 30,000x to 40,000x, while the RTP has dropped a touch to 96%. All in all, there are enough changes to make Duck Hunters 2 a worthwhile sequel, and there’s the usual array of NLC bonus buys to play the game exactly how you like.
